I can’t quite believe its been six months since I first subscribed to Birchbox – this year is FLYING by. You’ll have noticed from my previous posts that I’m not always their biggest fan. I’ve had quite a few duff products and some sketchy delivery dates but I’m still hanging on in there each month, so they must be doing something right!

This month’s box peeked my interest because of its collaboration with one of my faves, Millie Mackintosh and it definitely hasn’t disappointed. From the beautiful design, having our own choice of full sized product and not a duff one in sight – this is hands down my favourite box yet.

Never-Ending Summer

A theme based around summer never ending is something I’m sure we can all get behind. I never want long evenings and festival fever to leave us.

The collab with Millie, the ultimate festival babe, meant we were treated to a full size product designed and named by her – Loc x Millie Ultra-Gloss Lip Pencil (RRP £9.00) in ‘Bohemian Rose’, which is the perfect summery pink. (See shameless selfie below.) I’m seriously obsessed with this pencil, which is pigmented enough to be used as more of a lipstick than liner, keeps your lips moisturised and it actually lasts. You really can’t get better praise than that.

The second full size product came from John Frieda and we were given the choice last month to decide between either their Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Anti-Frizz Primer or the Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume In-Shower Treatment (Both RRP £9.99.) I chose the latter as frizz really isn’t a problem for me compared to a serious case of lack of volume. It’s not the biggest product I’ve ever seen but that’s not a Birchbox issue… it does however smell divine and so far-so good, I’m seeing a difference to my hair after using it. The 7 Day treatment ties in perfectly with my New Years Resolution to only wash my hair once a week. It’s basically fate.

We also got a Nails Inc sample, who I could never say anything bad about when their shades are both gorgeous and long lasting – mine was in the shade of ‘Oxford Street’ which is dark brown. I live for brown nails – so yes, this was also fate. (RRP £15.00)

I also live for Micellar Water, so was SO pleased to find a sample of one I haven’t tried out yet. Thermaliv’s Lotion Micellaire (RRP £12.90) not only removes makeup but cleanses the skin too, leaving it feeling smooth and refreshed. It probably won’t be replacing my trusted Nivea anytime soon, but I can’t fault it.

This month’s ultimate winner for me however, was the Ritual’s Magic Touch Body Cream (RRP £17.00) which I’ll be purchasing in full size at least 10 or 20 times. Not only does it smell AMAZING, which leaves you smelling equally as amazing, but the soft formula of rice milk leaves your skin feeling so nourished. Perfect for the summer. I love it.
